Getting Serious About Your Finances
What is stopping you from getting your finances in order? Do you not have the discipline, lack organization skills or unwilling to sacrifice to get your debt issues under control since you figure it will work out later.
I've been where you're at. I'd write my bill totals down. Look at my income, subtract the bills and work the numbers to "make sure" money was left. Like a diet everything worked well for a few days and then crash! A debt diet works the same for many but it doesn't have to be that way.
It finally hit me that my "debt system" was not working very well. And… my years of working my non-existent plan wasn't going to turn things around. I needed a new system and new plan that was proven and worked. Something could understand and follow.
I tried for years solving my money and debt problems without seriously looking at the what was causing the problem.
Many drowning in debt think a budget will fix their financial woes. But, if you don't commit to following the budget all the way through. You are just wasting time. It takes discipline. If you are truly committed to the process of ridding yourself of debt ask yourself the following questions.
- Are you willing to live without buying on credit cards?
- Are you and your family willing to make some sacrifices?
- Can you make hard decisions?
These questions are only the first ones in your journey to reduce debt but your answers are important for leaving debt a momory of your past. You cannot move on to the next steps until you get real with yourself. If you are determined to get your finances in order the rest is simple follow through!
